Miłosz Markiewicz – Deputy Director for Programming
Miłosz Markiewicz is a cultural scholar and art historian, dramaturge, translator, and art critic, with a PhD in humanities. He has co-created theatre productions and radio plays based on both canonical and more recent works, working alongside Justyna Łagowska, Jan Klata, and Robert Talarczyk, among others. As a scriptwriter, he has also worked on outdoor performances and an online series. Since September 1, 2025, he has been Deputy Director for Programming at the National Theatre.

From 2014 to 2025, Markiewicz was associated with the Stanisław Wyspiański Silesian Theatre in Katowice, serving as its literary director from 2018. Previously (2012–2014), he collaborated on literary projects with the Gliwice Musical Theatre, where, among other projects, he co-created the Gliwice Theatre Encounters programme. During Ingmar Villqist's artistic directorship, he served as curator of the programme for the INTERPRETATIONS National Festival of Directing in Katowice (2018–2022). He is the creator and curator of the Contributive Practices Laboratory series at the Poznań Working Stage, a project devoted to developing strategies for addressing the challenges facing contemporary cultural institutions. He has worked as an expert and collaborator for numerous cultural institutions across the country. Furthermore, he is a graduate of the Silesian Laboratory of Theatre Pedagogy.
Markiewicz is a former editorial board member of the academic journal "Polish Journal of Aesthetics" and the cultural magazine "Fragile," he currently serves as art editor for the online edition of "Czas Kultury." He has translated into Polish scholarly works by Rosi Braidotti and Bernard Stiegler, among others. He is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), the European Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts (SLSAeu), the Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences (AESS), the European Network for Cinema and Media Studies (NECS), and the Polish Cultural Society (PTK). He is an assistant professor at the Department of Theatre and Media Art at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and a member of the Humanities/Art/Technology Research Center at the university.
