Mother Joan of the Angels

An outstanding war-time short story by Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz. Jerzy Kawalerowicz and Tadeusz Konwicki's important film in the history of Polish cinema.

A young exorcist, Father Suryn, arrives in Ludyń on the outskirts of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It is said that the local monastery was taken over by the devil. What do nuns experience? How does evil arise that we do not understand? A performance about the need to experience something that surpasses us.
