Hamlet

Jan Englert crowns his twenty-eight seasons of artistic work at the National Theatre with a performance of Hamlet – a masterpiece he has tackled several times in the last half-century, both as an actor and as a director.

Should we believe the spirits of our ancestors? Should we believe anyone, for that matter? What is true and what is false at the Court of Elsinore? Who is manipulating whom, who is seeking the truth, and who, even, is deluding themselves that they are seeking it? Finally, is anyone here worthy of any sympathy at all?
