The Theatre Maker

By Thomas Bernhard, one of the pre-eminent playwrights of the second half of the 20th century. The title role is brought to life by Jerzy Radziwiłowicz.

“To be honest, theatre, in general, is absurd, but to be honest… There's nothing you can do at all except kill yourself. … Well, since we haven't killed ourselves so far, we're still trying to keep making theatre… even if it is all completely absurd and false," says actor Bruscon, the main character in The Theatre Maker. Together with his family, he comes to town to give a performance at the local tavern – but, as a result, he makes a performance of himself.

The play revolves primarily around the titular role. Directed by Andrzej Domalik, the part of Bruscon will be played by Jerzy Radziwiłowicz.
